Shilo, Manitoba — Corporal Isabelle Thibodeau was honoured by Manitoba’s Office of the Special Envoy for Military Affairs for championing Manitoba events and activities to Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Shilo’s military community. She was presented with a coin and certificate for her exceptional public service and her enthusiasm in encouraging members on base to get out and explore the province.

As the Vice President of the Mess Committee of the Shilo Junior Ranks Mess, Cpl Thibodeau has shown a talent for getting her fellow mess members more informed about their community, neighbourhood, and region.

Her weekly list of things to do encourages everyone to get out and explore. From dinner theatre in Winnipeg to curling bonspiels and small town fishing derbies the list is extensive, exhaustive and has something for everyone.

As a result of her efforts, the list will be made available to all ranks on base in the hopes of broadening awareness of all there is to do in Manitoba.

Cpl Thibodeau is also an enthusiastic volunteer with the annual United Way fundraising campaign and activities including the annual “Day of Caring” in Brandon. Additionally, she is an advisor on the CFB Shilo Operation Honour committee.
